We Help Our Community's Students Succeed Through Scholarships

Shawano Dollars for Scholars is in its 20th year.  What was started by business leaders to provide scholarships to a few students has grown to an organization with hundreds of individual donors and businesses to provide a scholarship to every graduating Shawano High School senior who applies.  Based on an overall application evaluation which includes financial need, scholarship, music, athletics, volunteerism, work, and citizenship, all students are ranked and awarded various levels of scholarships to help advance their education.

As part of Scholarship America's national network of nearly 1,000 locally based, volunteer-driven Dollars for Scholars chapters, our mission is to mobilize our community on behalf of postsecondary education success for our students. Dollars for Scholars chapters like ours help hometown students achieve their educational goals by raising scholarship funds, establishing endowments, providing assistance with college readiness and the financial aid process, and distributing scholarships each year.

Since its beginning, the Shawano Dollars for Scholars has given over 1 million dollars in scholarships. Our scholarships assist: graduating senior high school students, continuing college students, returning to school adults, and adults demonstrating significant hardships wishing to obtain an education.  Additionally, we assist in music scholarships and college exam prep courses.

We would like to thank our generous donors, supporters, and volunteers who make what we do possible.
